MY WRITING: I like to think that my music makes you think. I am a lyricist and I research my subject matter and then weave my stories into songs that bring joy, humor and sometimes sadness. Listeners can always find something to relate to when listening to one of my songs.
MY MUSICAL STYLE: Singer/Songwriter, Folk, Indie, Alternative
My Mother realized there was some musical DNA swimming around in my veins when I reached up to the piano and picked out The Battle Hymn of the Republic by ear. I was about 4 or 5 at the time. I have been playing music since that tender age. I began writing songs in Middle School and High School; I attribute my musical and songwriting knowledge to: genes (musical ability), Shakespeare (meter), The Beatles (harmony) and Dr. Seuss (rhyme)…I like to drink pink ink…. After I put the guitar down for about 20 years – job, home, children, I picked it up again and discovered (funny thing…) I had more song material! I've written songs about loss, love and loneliness. I've written about jerks, jackasses and Jesus. Now, I just want to write, perform and share my music with those who want to listen.
My family, especially my children Margaret and Patrick and my friends offer me significant encouragement. I could not do this without their support.
